Nadine Spier lives in a rural area outside of San Diego called Olivenhain. In addition to her beloved dogs, she has made a home for adopted rescued tortoises. The trees on her property provide the fallen pine needles for her artwork and for the students in her basketry classes. Nadine's passions are protecting nature/animals, and of course basketry.

She teaches basketry and related classes with a devotion and love that is transmitted to her students. Her classes are frequently filled to capacity with a waiting list. Nadine's reputation as an inspiring and compassionate teacher has grown throughout the years as she travels to teach at regional weaving conferences and guilds.
